From a LiberalReader comment on item: Push Back on the University Front Submitted by David H. Partington (United States), Jul 6, 2011 at 23:52 Perhaps. Here is one strong, devoted liberal who firmly supports your work in publicizing the dangers of radical Islam to the American people but at the same time is distressed by your conservative proposals with regard to higher education. For me the danger from the Right in matters of academic freedom is considerable. Of course, the Far Left is probably equally dangerous, but the present conservative outlook and programs as enunciated by the current crop of Reublican candidates for the presidency are abhorrent to me and I shall oppose and fight them to the limits of my abilities. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. Daniel Pipes replies: When liberals outnumber conservatives in select departments by 5-1, 10-1, and even 30-1, it seems to me more conservatives is salutary, not dangerous. << Previous Comment Next Comment >> Reader comments (22) on this item
