Delay is Surrender to MilitantsReader comment on item: U.S. Needs To Learn Patience [in Iraq] Submitted by Paul Saunders (United States), Nov 30, 2004 at 12:42 Dr. Pipes makes excellent points about the slow pace of growth of Constitutional Republics (Democracy is immoral mob rule) which requires that the Iraqi elections be delayed. However, militant Islamists, the "Arab Street", European socialists, and American leftists including the partisan media will treat any delay of the elections as, "a victory for the terrorists," "a Bush failure," "a surrender to terrorism," "prolonging of American oppression," "a Western failure," "proof that America has a failed foreign policy," etc.How can the Bush administration carry out the rationally required delay of the Iraqi elections that Dr. Pipes recommends while neutralizing the knee-jerk, irrational responses from all of America's and Bush's enemies, foreign and domestic ?
