A contradiction?Reader comment on item: U.S. Needs To Learn Patience [in Iraq] Submitted by Ben Shniper (United States), Dec 8, 2004 at 17:14 ...Do you believe that this is contradicting the earlier statements in favor of installing a strongman and leaving?An early election could prevent democratization. That voting is the end of democratization, not the beginning, is true. But earlier, you said we should not expect democracy in Iraq. We can be patient. We can install a quick solution. But we should make a decision soon. I think the American people's election of Bush shows that they support his Iraq plan. We should give that plan a good try, and cut our losses if we are wrong about Iraq's desire for American-style freedom. -Ben
