Passing and Failing

In this rather long exchange,I felt as if Dr Pipes was put in a bit of a Kangaroo court. Being accused of lumping all Islamists as one, Dr Pipes had to reiterate his feeling that there are degrees, stripes, supermarket choices and reasons for hope and concern in Islam. When badgered about the opening shots in a war against Israel versus a strong deterent reponse, Dr Pipes was put in a position of getting into the them first versus perfect measuring game. And when tring to simply distinguish the President as an unaknowledged Muslim in the past, but not the present , it's as if the panel didnt understand the words "unaknowledged", "past" and "present". Good effort all n' all Dr Pipes. In the future, might I suggest you speak to panels that listen closely to your words. You are an educated guy who parses his words very carefully. I think your panel flunked in questions and listening.
