Odd Way of Honoruring Yom KippurReader comment on item: Non-Muslims Who Fast for Ramadan Submitted by Lewis Percher (Canada), Oct 4, 2011 at 01:46 Indeed, Yom Kippur, the single holiest DAY in Judaism was honoured and revered rather oddly in 1973, when it was the day chosen to launch a surprise attack to annihilate the Jewish State. How to approriately respond to such an honour? Should the IAF perhaps "honour" Rammadan in like fashion, by launching day after day of senseless attacks on its Arab neighbours by day, only to take a break from the attacks come sunset? On behalf of Jews worldwide, I would sincerely request that Muslims refrain from bestowing such a tremendous "honour" upon our homeland, in "honour" of future Yom Kippurs, days that are apparently so revered in Islam. Thanks, but a card wll do just fine.
