Or Not Bomb Iran-But What of the Alternatives?Reader comment on item: Tehran holds Obama re-election wild card [in Iraq] Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 3, 2012 at 13:58 Contrary to popular opinion, the general American public does not seek war as a means of life; but war seems to the resort forced upon the American way of life by those who do not appreciate its freedom and liberties. Bombing Iran is not a recourse to be desired; yet Iran does not function in the American way of life, or thought either. Having worked with and have dealt with Iranians of many different opinions about being in America, one thing is certain-too few trust the American way of life, even while living it. Add to the distrust the Muslim ideology that gives America a bad score on the way life should be lived, it is inevitable that the ideology (let alone the Muslim teachings) of the Iranian leadership will take the world to a new level of brinksmanship: and how is America supposed to respond to that? And what of Great Britain-or the rest of the European community-do they capitulate for the lack of the will to live free? Be it completely understood-America is NOT the world's answer to peace-but can you imagine a world of peace without the freedoms and liberties once fought for by American might. Caution: be careful what you ask for-you just might get it.
