State of IsraelReader comment on item: Ending the Palestinian "Right of Return" Submitted by Colette Bahr (United States), Jan 19, 2012 at 08:51 "The State of Israel has every right to maintain and protect its Jewish character, even if that means that this would impact on its citizenship policy." There are requirements that will absolutely prevent the Right to Return. When will people wake up and see that it is one, or the other, not a compromise between both? There is no such thing as a correctly established State of Israel AND a Right to Return, never has been, never will be. There is no way that Orthodox Jews can allow a Right to Return - or even support it on any level or to any degree - and remain Orthodox Jews. It is one or the other. Thus, continued conflict is guaranteed unless the Palestinians leave. They must by religious duty fight the Right to Return. Show me one Orthodox Jew that supports the Right to Return while not being cast out by his synagogue. The rules are already laid down and can't be changed. All the cloudy water has to be cleared in order for real progress to take place in the Arab-Israeli conflict but as those of us have observed that study the area, once efforts are made to clear the water, some sort of hand intervenes and clouds it again, filling space with time consuming debates, peace talks, etc that do not directly address the matter. Something important wants to distract so I won't push it but be clear that Palestine has to leave in order for the conflict to end.
