Don't you think that six loosely connected topics (China, the US, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand) and nineteen disconnected ones (Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, the Polish and Russian peoples , Bohdan Chmielnicki , the Ashkenazi Jews, Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Naopoleon Buonaparte, the German states, Europe, American takeover , the Irish Catholics, the Irish Protestants , the Massachusetts Bay colony, the ecumenical paradise of Andaluz , Almohads vs. Reconquista, Chief Podunk of the Algonquins) raised and/or 'explained' in one short post are too many to handle both for the author and the addressee? What you wrote looks like a stream of consciousness. Streams of consciousness are a legitimate technique in modern novels. So I wonder if you haven't mistaken the forum ?
