sensible blogReader comment on item: Spy vs. Spy, America vs. Israel Submitted by john w mcginley (United States), Aug 8, 2012 at 11:41 Your remarks are balanced and fair. Jonathan Pollard has been disproportionally punished relative to his "crime." It is true that "if you do the crime you gotta do the time." Fair enough. But Pollard's time has become disproportionate to the "crime" when the "crime" is put into the perspective of your blog. Quiet negotiations are needed to release this man. But don't count on the Obama Administration to take any action on this. If Obama is re-elected Pollard and Israel will have to wait for four and a half more years. I believe Romney will not win the election. If by some miracle he does squeak out a victory I suspect that such QUIET negotiations will be successful. In my heart of hearts I hold no animus against Pollard. I really do believe that what's good for Israel is good for the USA. But don't misunderstand me. We should keep on spying on Israel just as Israel should keep n spying on America. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
