Interests are not a matter of opinion at all but they are quite objective and tangible. They can be defined and even quantified (in terms of profit/power maximization) and lead to quite predictable behavior to promote them.

The preeminent interest of the US includes remaining the sole superpower cost what it may and preventing any rival from achieving a level from which he could challenge the US world hegemony. As the only such rival at present is China it is clear that the US is doing its best/worst to destroy this rival. And as at the same time as the US is paralyzed economically with debt which it owes to the same rival it wants to eliminate it must use a different strategy to achieve its goal than either economic strangulation as the US itself is being strangulated with debt or open war. China is after all also a nuclear power. The only option is undermining China from within and Islam is as always an ideal tool to bring about chaos, anarchy and political and social disintegration. This is the reason why the US has been in bed with this monster for decades now. But Islam wants something in exchange too and it is Israel that it is a thorn in its ar... and so it wants to devour it.

> The same can be said of US-United Kingdom, US-Canada, US-Germany, US-Japan, US-India, US-Pakistan, US-Russia, etc., etc. relations. <

I find it very misleading to consider any US- x-state relation it terms of just two players, especially when you substitute x with Israel. How can you understand what any Israeli feels towards the US government if you leave out of sight the abject buttock-licking attitude of the same US government towards sworn enemies of Israel like Saudi Arabia, Qatar,Turkey, the UAE ? To put it bluntly , you have to spy on the US for otherwise one day you may be surprised by US-made napalm bombs falling on your cities from Turkish or Saudi (ie. again US-made) planes. With that kind of "friend" any trust is unjustified and no precaution is superfluous. Note also that the Israeli politicians had to admit that state of affairs. Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to Washington said some two years ago : "There is no crisis in Israel-US relations because in a crisis there are ups and downs. [Instead] relations are in a state of tectonic rift in which continents are drifting apart." And it was before the so called "Arab(=Radical Islamist) Spring" was initiated by the US.
