A reverse thought is also worth consideringReader comment on item: Egypt's Sixty Years of Misery Submitted by Prashant (United States), Aug 31, 2012 at 02:26 Just imagine what would happen if in one night open mindedness descends into Middle East. If for all Islamic people, religion becomes an important issue but not the only important issue. If all asymmetric rules in the middle east are removed. If these countries instead of being 98% Islamic, became, say, 55% Islamic. Imagine what will happen. The oil wealth wil be used for scientific progress instead of running madrassas and financing terror, Kurdistan will become a tourist destination, Swat valley will become the Switzerland of Asia, Jordon and Syria will be scientifically as advance as Israel. People will not kill each other for no reason. Bible and Gita will be also preached in Mecca. Democracy will thrive. We would hear symphonic orchestras in Tehran instead of theocratic cacophony. What if. Just what if. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
