The New York Times and the truthReader comment on item: Post-Mortem on the Muhammad Protests Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Oct 16, 2012 at 14:30 Dr. Pipes The folks at the NYT are very aware that they just did not get the story about the atrocity in Benghazi and it is very embarrassing to those in charge of our so called newspaper of record but they are still sticking to their little lie So now they tell us in an article today http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/international/countriesandterritories/libya/index.html that we all got it wrong and that it was this badly made video that is the cause of anger of Muslims. and that such anger was the reason why Islamists attacked the consulate in Benghazi and killed 3 Americans the ambassador included, when the evidence from the Arab press and from our intelligence service points to the fact that there was nothing spontaneous about such atrocity, and it had nothing to do with this video, as the NYT wrongly claimed. when the Egyptian/Arabic languagepress was telling that the embassy was being attacked by salafists to protest and to demand the freedom of the convicted terrorist so called Sheikh abd al-Rahman http://www.almesryoon.com/news.aspx?id=92080 and nothing about the video and we do not hear about it as a cause for such attack Then on 9/8/2012 al-Nas TV which is run by salafists did show part of it on their channel and some angry salafist incited Muslims to protest such video and it could have ended there but it was more reason for those protesting at the US embassy in Cairo to continue their attack on the embassy http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/09/201291720158465768.html The attack in Libya? It had nothing to do with the video but we are told that the reporters from the NYT were told by many unnamed witnesses that it was the video that should be blamed not realizing that the NYT fell in the biggest trap of them all and that is recall bias http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recall_bias and that their methodology became very flawed and useless What is most amazing the NYT should have been asking: What if what Mr Nakoula is saying is correct and the thing is bizarre as it might sound there is a tradition in Ibn Ishaq where Khadija asks Muhammad to sit on her right thigh then left thigh then she takes off her khumar and I will leave the rest to your imagination but it is all in Ibn Ishaq, so Mr Nakoula was not making things up So much for our free press
