It feels like the sky is falling ~Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Second Presidential Candidates' Debate Submitted by sara (United States), Oct 17, 2012 at 18:41 It seemed last night when Crowley rushed to the rescue of Obama to make Romney appear inaccurate that the worst damage done was that Romney did not take adequate advantage of the opportunity to point out the massive failure and cover up of the Libyan embassy attack. And that was a shame. That was last night. Reading the headlines and commentary ALL over the web today it is clear that they press and the admin have managed to spin this into a ROMNEY LIE! How is that even possible? I guess it must be if the press were willing to play down the cover up these past weeks, cooperating with the WH. But since the hearings started, they were being forced to put it out there, culminating in Hillary falling on Obama's sword. The timeline and facts are so crystal clear to those of us who have been following this fiasco that it never ever dawned on me that this could be twisted in any way. But to twist it into a play against Romney is nothing short of genius. I am aghast. Romney will regret his inability to keep on top of that exchange in the debate and allowing it to be reinterpreted by the MSM. Even Crowley admitted after that Romney was right and that she shouldnt have said what she so unprofessionally said. Either the Obama campaigners are pure geniuses and planned this whole thing or they are incredibly lucky. The fact that Romney will take the fall for what the Obama admin has done is inconceivable. They spun it the same way when Romney came out with his comments about the Egyptian embassy's appeasement. No one will bother to find out the truth, our lazy citizens just glance at headlines or read a few pundits to form their opinions. The loss is all ours. Loss of facts, loss of hope in the future of this country. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
