Not lying but twisting the truthReader comment on item: Reflections on the Second Presidential Candidates' Debate Submitted by sara (United States), Oct 17, 2012 at 19:27 Carl, I know that on the surface of it, for those who have not been following the events of the past weeks, it appears that Obama did utter the word 'terror' in that first speech. The point is though, that other than the random mention at the end of the speech which was to announce the deaths of the Americans at the embassy (in which he talked about not offending Muslims and the horrible video), the administration as a unit, including Obama, refused to call it a terror attack for the next 2 weeks. Obama refused to call it a terror attack on the View interview, in his UN speech, etc. etc. THAT is the point. All of his surrogates went out incl Amb Rice and denied it was a terror attack even while the LIBYAN govt was saying it was. Then the videos and intelligence info became public and the hearings began and we were able to see CLEARLY that it was a terror attack, had always been known to be a terror attack, that there never had been any mobs or anything the admin had kept repeating- that it was a spontaneous reaction to the video. I will find the UN speech and/or the View interview, or all interviews and statements from the period of Sept 12-18 and prove it to you. Then, and only then, duing the hearings when the press had to report on it, did Obama and the WH cop to it and even had Hillary fall on his sword to take the heat off of him. This is not made up, it is very clear. Look at the timelines. Either the American people cannot remember events of 3 weeks ago or the press has done a stupendous job keeping it down, or both. That this would now be used to turn around on Romney and accuse him of lying just leaves me speechless.
