Exactly Wrong, Mr Pipes. NONE of this matters anymore!Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Second Presidential Candidates' Debate Submitted by stanley b (United States), Oct 17, 2012 at 18:49 Whatever Romney failed at in his points or tactics last night are utterly irrelevant in the face of what he created by failing to immediately and fully address the Libyan exchanges with the President and Ms Crowley. This administration is expert at campaign mudslinging and they are already pushing the notion that Romney outright lied about innocent Mr Obama's comments. He loses all credibility now and the horrible irony is that he was completely factually correct. But since when does that matter in politics? Romney has now lost the momentum and the credibility he had built up over the past weeks. This race is over. That is the sorry reality. Knowing how hostile the press is, he should have known better than to leave that hanging with the appearance that he had been corrected. You note that Obama will have to wrestle with the Libya issue for the next few weeks. The opposite is true. Romney will have to start damage control immediately and robustly but the damage has been done. Submitting....
