The AKP is pro western and they have not much choice in the matter.

RTE and his party the AKP are not anti western.They dutifully installed the anti missile defence system in Eastern Turkey as required by NATO and they are no longer friendly with Iran.

Turkey has no gas or oil so we cannot produce the likes of saddam or gaddaffi.Turkish state depends on its industrialists,entrepreneurs and its professional people to provide it with revenue.In other words RTE must do the bidding of the Turkish high bourgeoisie.

Turkish economy is integrated with global capitalism hence no going back to a bellicose jihadist Islamic state, even the deeply religious Anatolian Bourgeioisie know that. That is why after 10 years it is still secular state and a member of NATO.
