Why?Reader comment on item: Give Up on the Two-State Solution? Other Ideas Submitted by Y. K. Cherson (Spain), Nov 14, 2012 at 18:46 Kill me if I understand, why Israel should agree to the "palestinian state" in Judea and Samaria in ANY option. USA will be annoyed if Israel refuses? USA were annoyed by Israel so many times, starting from the creation of Israel- something that Truman and all the US Administration, together with hte CIA and Pentagon fiercely opposed, proceeding to the 1956 Tripartite War, passing to hte pre-emptive strike in 1967 and nuclear alert in 1973 - and ending with Liberty, Pollard, arms sales to China... Both Israel and USA survuved this; there is no sign they will not be able to survive one annoyance more. Arabs will be angry? Their anger is the last thing in the world that worries me. Demographic threat? This traditional "boo" has been recently unveiled by Yoram Ettinger and the statistics on Jewish vs.Arab births. What else? There is not a single reason why Israel should agree on this plan, and there is not a single advantage Israel will get from its implementation. Annex Judea and Samaria - and start to push Arabs out, without any land swaps and other pseudo -scientific and absolutely unrealistic plans, calmly but steadily; there are well-known means for this. To Jordan, for example. It's a palestinian Arab state, it's Muslim...What else can Arabs wish?
