Israel vs the Islamic worldReader comment on item: Debate about possible war between Israel and Hamas Submitted by Prashant (United States), Nov 15, 2012 at 01:21 Dear Dr Pipes, Islam is the fastest growing religion of the world and, in terms of population and the controlled land mass, is enormously big. But generosity that comes with size has not touched the Islamic world. I have never met a muslim in my entire life who does not openly oppose and hate Israel. Even converted Muslims hate Israel. I will pictorially illustrate how small Israel is compared to the Islamic world. Imagine that each x below stands for the total area of Israel. If so Israel will be this big: x And Saudi Arabia will be this big: Yes, Saudi Arabia alone is 100 times bigger in area than Israel. If the Islamic world wanted to solve the palestinian problem, every single displaced Palestinian could have been settled in one tiny corner of Saudi Arabia. And If you consider the entire contiguous Islamic land mass from Pakistan to Morocco, Israel will be like an invisible dot. The proportions described in the original David vs Goliath story are miniscule when you look at the modern day version of that story. Another way to gauge the size of the problem is to look at the partition of India in 1947. When India was divided in 1947, about 7 Million Hindus moved Pakistan to India. Today the entire population of people who call themselves Palestinians is 11 Million. The people who moved from Pakistan to India --no matter which town or village they went to-- constitute one of the most prosperous population segments of their adopted land. And, we all know what Palestinians constitute. Those who blame Israel as the cause of Palestinian problem, do not want this problem solved. The above comparisons put things into perspective.
