Israel is a derived Western countryReader comment on item: Obama's Anti-Zionism Submitted by Amit Srivastava (India), Feb 7, 2013 at 22:14 True that Mr. Romney would have been a better President than what Mr. Obama is but Mr. Obama cannot be labeled as anti-Zionist. Israel is a derived Western country and the strongest ally of the US in the Middle East. In spite of his 'academic' approach and oral inconsistencies Mr. Obama can not go against the state of Israel. The fact is that two-state solution is the only possible solution as Jews and Arabs are definitely different nationalities and they will never reconcile with each other in Israel-Palestine region (IPR). Israel too does not have flexibility to accommodate Palestinian aspirations and values. But one thing is sure that the future state of Palestine which emerges out of Israeli control has to be liberal, moderate and democratic though Islamic. They should have a small military so that they can understand the complexity of time and compulsions of the state. The Palestine state should promote English and consumerism as well. For die-hard Americans who support Israel because it is the land of their God-incarnate, Judeo-Christianity axis is not real as Jesus ordering his disciples to evangelize Jews was a verdict against Judaism and Hebrew. Jews lost their numbers and thereafter their influence. But sure, Israel is a Western country and all Americans should support it. Mr. Obama does not appear to have those big options so as to change American policies overnight.
