Dear Prof. D. Pipes,

many of your insights are very interesting...I would only like to add a quick remark. I'm not sure that you're correct when you're saying that, in the case of Turkey, all of the coups were headed by senior officers. As far as is known, the first on (in 1960) was directed by junior officers with ranks not exceeding that of a colonel.
