He's a politician

Danon may talk tough and think he is the right man to take over from Netanyahu. But how often have we seen a supposedly strong right wing leader who promises to look after Israel's best interests and stand up to the west , take the top job only to crack under intense pressure from washington and trade his ideological beliefs for political gain, swing sharply to the left, and betray the very people who elected him?

Has the prime ministers job become something of a poisoned chalice?
