can't they think ahead?

What I don't understand is how they can be so stupid as to locate themselves in more or less marginal agricultural areas - with no access to water and raw materials besides oil (not that they'd have the skills to extract them.). Areas which are away from the world's press and prying eyes - but present great targets for airborne assault.

Then they commit acts which annoy the crap out of shia , and which the rest of the world (except true muslims) finds abhorrent. It would be an easy afternoon's work for any advanced air force to wipe them all out. They just don't seem to have a clue how precarious their position is.
