Justifying Arabian imperialismReader comment on item: From Time Immemorial Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Aug 18, 2014 at 07:59 Our dear sus is back and I wonder why Sir, thank you for your answer. There are several problems with your answer. I focus on the two main ones. Until the beginning of the eleventh century, the majority of the population in Palestine (but also in Egypt, Syria and other areas) remained predominantly Christian; So? As a matter of fact in let us say Upper Egypt the majority of Egyptians were Copts until the middle of the 19th century But so what? this confirms that Islam was generally not imposed to the local populations. Not true your Arab masters and their historians tell us that the Arabs invaded the Middle East so they can speard Islam so were they a bunch of liars and a lost tablighee like you know? . Your masters the lazy Arab invaders did not encourage conversion to Islam because let us say in the case of Egypt and Palestine/Syria the Christian population had to pay the mafia tax called al-Jizya and if you read your Arab historians of the period they tell us that the Arabs were worried about this source of income and that conversion to the religion of the Arabs only should be discouraged In the case of Egypt the famous Bashmour uprising (the Coptic revolt dated 730-740CE) the Copts revolted against your Arab masters but many of them were deported to Mesopotamia and your Arab masters brought into Egypt Arab tribes to replace the deported population and the end result is that by the 11th century most of the population of Lower Egypt (The Delta) were Muslims The Copts were over taxed by both al-Jizya and al-Kharaj taxes and conversion to the religion of the Arabs was the way out And there are indeed real scholary work about why did many Copts convert to Islam but non of it was the result of sincere belief that Islam is the real deal http://mamluk.uchicago.edu/MSR_X-2_2006-OSullivan.pdf Do you get it our dear sus al-tablighee? Now in the case of Iran Zoroastrians faced one of two options (as we sdee happening to today's Yazidi in Iraq): Convert to Islam or be killed And in the case of your Hindu ancestors when the Muslim invaders invaded India millions of them were murdered As for the Amazigh many were murdered and sold in slavery by your Arab masters and the end result was mass conversion to Islam as in Islam Taslam Oh the religion of peace I do not blame for a minute anyone who converts if this would save him and his family And if nothing worked many non Muslims were BRIBED so they would convert to Islam as per Q9:60 so did the Arabs bribe your ancestors our dear sus? How come you did not know that our dear sus? Furthermore, as Clermont-Ganneau (PEF) noted more than one century ago, "Mussulman Arabs, who founded their empire on the ruins of the Byzantine and Persian Kingdoms, intentionally left untouched the civilization which they found already installed and in use [...] the fellaheen of Palestine, taken as a whole, are the modern representatives of those old tribes which the Israelites found settled in the country, such as the Canaanites, Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Philistines, Edomites, ect.". Why did they invade in the first place? Hint: Looting right? Finally, Arabicì - introduced in the region long before the Islam - has the same sound system as Cana'nite, reflected in the 28-sign alphabets of both. Ugaritic also has the same sounds, except that the 30-sign alphabet has three signs for the aleph: ā, ū, ē. The history of the region is very much based on continuity, as the millenary names of most of the local cities confirms. So quite the opposite of what you claim. And again, "It is ridiculous to call the English of today invaders and occupiers, on the grounds that England was conquered from Celtic peoples by the Angles, Saxons and Jutes in the fifth and sixth centuries. The population was "Anglicized" and nobody suggests that the peoples which have more or less preserved the Celtic tongues – the Irish, the Welsh or the Bretons – should be regarded as the true natives of Kent or Suffolk, with greater titles to these territories than the English who live in those counties." The Arabs invaded the Middle East! Get over it See? you are trying to justify imperialism and racism shame on you
