about dragons and suchReader comment on item: Congress: Stop Subsidizing Biased Middle East Studies Submitted by Michael S. (United States), Dec 11, 2014 at 02:57 Hi, Jana, My religion is that, as my late father-in-law used to say, "I'm just a poor boy, trying to get along." "Jew and Christian are one"? The Jews don't think so, and neither do the Christians, and I don't want to buck the trend. "Only difference, we did not reject Him. Yeshua. , Jews say Ha Shem." I don't accept that. HaShem is Adonai, the one God. Jesus is not God -- that's my understanding, which I base on the NT as well as TaNaKh. I 'm not trying to convince you, just telling you what I believe. "And as Romans says. Because they the Jews. rejected Him. The Gentiles were brought in." Again, I don't capitalize "him" when referring to Jesus. Let's see who "him" is:
I believe that's what you're referring to. Paul seems to be merely pointing out a historical fact, not teaching a doctrine concerning salvation. If the Jews had accepted Jesus (as being the Messiah, not God -- which he wasn't and isn't), "Christianity" would have continued as a sect WITHIN Judaism, similar to the diehard followers of Menachem Mendel Schneerson today. It is hard to believe that Christianity would have continued very long with those trappings; which is why I believe that it was actually God's will that the principle leaders of the Jews refected Jesus. It is for my benefit, as a goy, that a few believed and passed on that faith to me. As Paul said in the above passage, the time for the Jews will come also. There certainly is a contest today, for the hearts and minds of men. We testify about the blood of Jesus, that the shedding of it has given us eternal life with God; and the world preaches what? Pleasure? Pride? Arrogance? Selfishness? Those are the hallmarks of "Western Civilization" (sans HaShem). We war against an invisible dragon; but his very likeness walks and rules among us; and he will kill us if he can. Therefore we will live and testify, and die, and rise and live again.
