Hereticism Can Be Avoided By Holdng to the Spirit of ScriptureReader comment on item: Terrorism Defies Definition Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Dec 11, 2014 at 14:10 Very generally, I have attempted to refrain from 'debating' Biblical truth, in that as I am led to understand scripture by its own confirmation by the Spirit, there are things others will contend with to underscore their own beliefs and I typically render to my faith what I belief and others are remanded to contend with their own conscience what they are willing to believe. That being said, unfounded extractions from the basic Biblical truth are to be reproved (letters of Paul to Timothy). As for the 'Trinitarian' labeling, this is a convenient appellation for the use of those who have yet to understand the complex nature of the LORD El-Elyon. Be that as it may, it is not that labeling, but the blanched bones of your contention that constantly captures my interest as the nearly two thousand year argument that Yeshua could not possibly be who He said He was because it is inconvenient in human thinking to comprehend. The contention that Yeshua was an 'only child' works to the facts of His deity; but the parole evidence and certain records do indicate His mother gave birth to siblings. You indicate that Paul restricted Yeshua's lineage as the Son of David, which is a misfortunate understanding that comes from before His crucifixion. His being human gets its authentication from Scripture (Genesis 3); and from the general belief of a truth (Gospel of Luke/Matthew comparison) that Mary was His human mother (a nod to the Christmas season here). It is here that varying explanations by others who tried to sort out their own bones of contention resorted to intricate genealogical blood lines to authenticate how, if humanly possible, can there be so many ways to a belief of convenience (or inconvenience, for that matter), that in reality leads to the debates from which we are told to refrain. Faith is distinctly required for the truth of Yeshua's paternity. The simple leading to this is the human seed of David traces through Mary (seed of the woman- a judgment against the serpent for his sedition against Eve), since the all-male blood line by Joseph to the throne was truncated as indicated in the Chronicles. But here again, as you have indicated, there is no less squabbling about Yeshua's lineage now as there was before the cross, so the default position is to allow the Scripture to instruct without questioning the Spirit that underlies all of its content and be content that by faith Yeshua, through His promises to those who believe, all will be revealed in its due time. Let the Scriptures reveal all we need to know, in its due time. Matthew (Ch 13:55) Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? Mark (Ch 3:31, 32) wrote: And his mother and his brothers came, and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting around him, and they said to him, "Your mother and your brothers are outside, seeking you." John (Ch 2:12) After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.
