American Arabs may be more anti-Israel than Middle East Arabs, but American Jews go both waysReader comment on item: Americans Battle the Arab-Israeli Conflict Submitted by Alan Stein (Israel), Mar 11, 2015 at 15:48 I tend to disagree in part. While I'd agree that in America the anti-Israel side (I don't consider them pro-Palestinian Arab, since anyone who was truly pro-Palestinian Arab would be pushing their leadership to act in their best interest and try to reach an accommodation with Israel rather than continuing policies which harm themselves more than Israel) is often more fanatical than the Arabs in the Middle East, I think on the Israeli/Jewish side there may be some who are more blindly supportive of Israel than Israelis, but there's also a widespread tendency to bend over backwards to be "even-handed," so much so that even without dealing with those suffering from Oslo Syndrome, like JStreet, we have leaders in the mainstream Jewish community often unfairly critical of Israel. Given that the state of the Jewish people is under genocidal attack, I think American Jews have an obligation to avoid public criticism which benefits the Israel-haters. (Not all criticism does, but the Israel-haters have few allies more helpful to them than JStreet.)
