Great observation with clear and present danger in Iranian contextReader comment on item: Americans Battle the Arab-Israeli Conflict Submitted by asok (United Arab Emirates), Mar 15, 2015 at 03:51 Thank you Dr. Pipes for a very balanced article. I particularly like the comment - distance makes grey look like black and white This observation is also very applicable in the Iranian context where I see a clear and present danger due to harsh rhetoric. Those who are seemingly bent on sabotaging any prospects of peace with Iran will probably not have to bear consequences of a shooting war. It won't be their sons and daughters on the front lines; and thus are driven by extreme ideologies and doomsday visions. Your conclusion that people on the ground who are most effected must have the most say is very wise counsel. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: But, to look again at Americans, there really is no debate over Iran as such. That is, there is near-universal agreement that the regime is ugly and dangerous. The only debate is a tactical one how to stop it from acquiring nuclear weapons. Reader comments (21) on this item
