Not quite accurateReader comment on item: How Much Can Air Power Achieve? Submitted by yuval (Israel), Apr 8, 2015 at 05:11 Winning is a curious term. How does Israel win in Gaza? Clearly the only way it can win is by causing the residents of Gaza to leave, because as long as they are there, they will keep on fighting, bolstered by UNWRA financed by the US on the one hand, and whatever Muslim regional power is able to spare some millions, be it Qatar or Iran on the other. This is the case where winning is impossible. But not initiating fighting at all is tantamount to giving up and being subjugated to the will of the Jihadi. I donbt know if you lived permanenetly under the threat of rockets, but believe me its disruptive, and not codusive to the normal life of a democratic state. So bombing, using superior fire-power for every infringement of the unwritten cease-fire is the better option. Because commiting troops to the booby-traps with no hope of really winning IE an empty gaza Strip, is not surviveable in a democracy.
