Team SpiritReader comment on item: That Failed Philadelphia "Islamic Jew-Hatred" Bus Ad Submitted by Michael s (United States), Jun 1, 2015 at 21:21 Everything you said here is true. I don't think Geller's ad was effective. In the big scheme of things, few people actually seem to be concerned with the truth anymore. Most people, around the world, appear to be motivated by thinly veiled self-interest: They don't acutally care who has done this or that in the Middle East or elsewhere: They want to know whether "their team" is winning, whatever they think that may be. Most people in the world do not consider the Jews to be "their team", so they aren't rooting for them. Many Muslims and Leftists, on the other hand, think of the mythical "Palestinians" as "their team": so they root for them, regardless of the logic or truth of the matter. Unlike most of my countrymen, I don't follow sports of any kind. I don't have a team; I only have a God; and my God is the God of Israel. I am therefore on Israel's side, no thanks to Geller and her ads. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
