Erdogan: on a collision course with IsraelReader comment on item: Turkey's Unimportant Election Submitted by Michael S. (United States), Jun 6, 2015 at 10:58 Hello, Dr Awad Thank you for sharing your insight on President Erfogan. I have never been to Turkey, so I have never seen firsthand, the things of which you speak. You mentioned one speculation, however: I will not be surprise if the army will not step in to save Turkey from Sultan /Caliph Erdogan I know that Turkey has a history of military takeovers; but it seems that Mr. Erdogan has protected himself from such a thing, by purges of the military and police on a massive scale. I think Mr. Erdogan will be leading Turkey for many years to come; and it seems that he will be the "Gog" mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39. "Gog" was Gyges, the founder of the Lydian dynasty in power in western Turkey in Ezekiel's time (just before the Medo-Persian takeover of Anatolia). The Bible says of him, Ezekiel 38 The saying, "I will put hooks in thy jaws", means that Gog / Erdogan will not actually want to attack Israel (and be defeated); he will be snared into doing it, probably by his own larger-than-life big mouth. I can't be sure how this will work out, other than what Ezekiel said. Right now, Erdogan seems more than occupied with domestic concerns: the ongoing purges, opposition from the Kurds, the secularists and the Gulen movement, and other activities required of a Hitler-like dictator who bases his political life on a racist, anti-Jewish, hate-filled doctrine. He seems to be inexorably drawn into Syria, though; and there he will be on a collision course with Israel.
