Briefly, no -- immigrants to America pick up the local accents, accents going back to hundreds of years ago in England, in the second generation. Southern Blacks and Puerto Ricans speak their own regional variants.

We're still about 1/3 off our normal rainfall where I live. Most of the wildfires are now near the Canadian border and on the Idaho-Montana line, no longer near my home.

Barring a real turn of events, it looks as though Donald Trump will get the Republican nomination for US President. With the Democrats, it looks more "iffy": The money's still on Hillary Clinton, but the momentum is with Vice President Biden. Jeb Bush has lots of money, but can't seem to buy love: He's only polling 8% to Trump's 30%. I don't count Sanders or Carson as having much of a chance. So, unless someone gets assasinated or something, our next President should be Tweedle Clinton, Tweedle Biden or Tweedle Trump.

The news here is largely about Europe's immigration/ refugee woes, which Obama wants us to share with them. Does he plan to swap our Mexicans for Europe's Muslims? He will be with us for 16 more months -- 16 months too long.

The largely unreported news, is that troops are deploying in many places: Russians and Iranians to Syria; Egyptians, Saudis, Emiratis, Qataris and Kuwaitis to Yemen, and the Turks making cross-border incursions into Kurdistan-Barzani. The Americans, meanwhile, have been "minding their own business"... well, that is, in Bosnia, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Chad, Israel, Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, Tajikistan, El Salvador, Lebanon, Romania, Mexico, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Kenya, Indonesia, Uganda, the Philippines, and other near neighbors (tongue in cheek) of ours. President Obama has protested the Russian aggression.

Daytime near you, nighttime near me. Keep your "five eyes" opened -- my are ready for some sleep.
