Reader comment on item: Can Egypt and Ethiopia Share the Nile?

Submitted by anon (Netherlands), Feb 18, 2016 at 12:08

... there are documents and with this document its clearly seen that Ethiopia did not sign 1929 agreement not only that , ETHIOPIA NEVER SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON NILE WITH EGYPT AND SUDAN OR YOUR FORMER COLONIZER BRITISH AND NOBODY SIGNED AN AGREEMENT IN PLACE OF ETHIOPIA BECAUSE ETHIOPIA NEVER COLONIZED BY ANYONE.

But now we need to use our water resources because most of it originate from Ethiopia we want it for hydro-power, we know you are not happy with this because you guys are not smart and you just hate us and want us to stay in poverty but things changed now we want to use our water resources. Nile flow for more than 7000 years without use for Ethiopia and still ur not grateful. Everybody know what is your plan for Ethiopia thanks to the video that leak from your presidential office and we are ready for it, dear my brother Egyptian one more time this 21st century its better to collaborate than looking a way to destabilizing Ethiopia.

Be smart and stop trying to destabilizing us ... we know our river better than you.Do not ever think Ethiopia should be in poverty and hunger so that Egypt could have its water share. Its a matter of life and death for Ethiopia too because our population is growing fast so we need it to use to provide electricity and feed our population its a must to use our all water resources therefore its a matter of life and death for us, we are tired of being called poor country while we have a nile water resources that we can use
