The United States has a military presence and gives aid all around the world yet has few friends.Reader comment on item: End U.S. Aid to Israel Submitted by Lynn (United States), Jul 28, 2016 at 12:44 Our lack of military presence in Israel is made up by contributing to Israel's defense. In my mind if all the enemies of Israel had the opportunity to wipe Israel from the earth they would eagerly oblige. They might not be successful but it would cause grave suffering in the trying. I think the aid is worth it not just for a friend but for history. What bothers me about U.S. aid is the voices that think Jerusalem should be divided and Israel shrunk even further than it is already with the letters pointing to it larger than it's relative size when viewed on a world map. That fact makes it all the more marvelous that the tiny country of Israel looms so large in the world's eyes. It's really remarkable the power of God.
