grudging acceptane - if they're lucky

Reader comment on item: More on the Burkini Ban
in response to reader comment: Burkini

Women should be allowed to wear WHATEVER THEY WANT on the beach. Whether that be a bikini, a swimming costume, a skirt, leggings, a dress, pyjamas, trousers, a jacket, a coat, a jumper, a hoody, a Burkini! It's their body so should be their choice whether to strip off or cover up.

Many muslims in the West have a problem with that though. I've actually heard muslim males called white women in bikinis 'whores'.

". I am wondering how this law could be implemented in Australia as stinger suits and wet suits are not dissimilar to Burkinis. Will they be outlawed too?"

Stingers only occur in the far north of Australia - not where the vast majority of the population lives. People of both sexes wear stinger suits for survival, to protect against otherwise fatal box jellyfish stings. Not because they are narcissistic ideologues have some imagined religious duty to uphold.

"... I wonder how many English people were saying "Multi-Culturalism does not work" when they were busy invading and taking over other people's countries!? "

I ask myself a similar question - I wonder how many arabs were saying 'multi-culturalism does not work' when they were busy invading and taking over Coptic North Africa? And enslaving and selling millions of sub-Saharan Africans. But back to the original question -
Very few - as it was not in those times a social meme foisted on people by deluded politicians looking to create utopian societies.

In a practical sense - arabs in the Middle East and elsewhere are opposed to multiculturalism in their own regions. They are very opposed to multi-ethnic, multi-faith Israel. And simply do no tolerate religious diversity in their own countries or if they do - grudgingly so - eg. Egypt.
