I think there's a difference between electronic hacking and turning a government employee into a spy

And this accounts in part for America's anger regarding Pollard.

I have no doubt America would be angry about hacking too (despite doing it to Israel), but recruiting a friendly government's agent to become a spy would anger said friendly government.
