One state solution and votes for Arab citizens of Israel

Dear Dr Pipes:

In the context of one state solution in Israel, our reader Debanjan Banerjee said, "So combining these two factors I believe the time is ripe for Israel to grant voting rights to Arabs in Gaza and Judea and Samaria."

Debanjan Banerjee is a hypocrite. Arab citizens of Israel can very comfortably live in a non-democratic Islamic umma and there is no need for them to live in a democratic setup. Voting rights to these Arabs should be granted only when at least a few Islamic countries of the world declare themselves to be **secular** constitutional democracies and when there is a significant recognition of the need to democracy among the Islamic theologists.

If democracy is not good in Islamic majority nations, how can it be good in Islamic minority regions of the world?
