What does an Israeli victory mean?Reader comment on item: Poll: Israelis Want Victory Submitted by Prashant, Jul 14, 2017 at 20:12 Dear Dr Pipes, An Israeli victory in real terms will mean that the people who call themselves Palestinians and live or visit Israel or the area surrounding it, choose to live in peace, drop the desire to win back Jerusalem for Islam, drop the desire to push Israel into the sea, and adopt democratic values. That is possible but I think it is not very likely unless the entire Islamic world realizes that democracy is a very imperfect way to live but it is the only way to live. As long as Islamic fundamentalism is alive and well in any significant way any where in the world, it will keep polluting the minds of Palestinian people and Palestinians will not agree for permanent peace. Or so I think. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
