Snatching Uncertaintly From the Jaws of DecisivenessReader comment on item: Poll: Israelis Want Victory Submitted by J Pfeffer (United States), Jul 25, 2017 at 13:50 Israel's leaders, both left and right, have always seemed to made the assumption that there is political capital to be gained by not seizing victory when the opportunity arises. I guess they formulate somehow that by taking less then they could or by helping their enemy to minimize their self inflicted harm, perhaps Israeli leaders expect long term repayment, perhaps their are other deeper reasons. Since no victor in any previous war on any continent in memory has so consistently rendered so harmless their enemy's defeated population with such Scandinavia style privilege, perhaps these Israeli leaders expect the World to give the Jews special dispensation for enlightening the World. Or perhaps its just foolishness. Defeat in battle does mean defeat in most historical contexts, but not for the Jews of Israel. What Israel wins in battle is usually just a bit more safety and earning the privilege to continue to be morally dumped on by less evolved people. Looking back over the decades ask yourself two questions: How many cases can you identify where you can honestly exclaim? "If only Israel had not (give/accept/agree to) something when the opportunity arose. And then honestly ask the question? How many cases can you identify where you can honestly say? "If only Israel had taken this opportunity to (give/accept/agree to) something.
