Erroneous AssumptionsReader comment on item: President Trump's "Ultimate Deal": Is Israeli-Palestinian Peace Possible? Submitted by Michael Rosenberg, Jan 16, 2018 at 10:24 Dr. Pipes, you know how much I respect you from my previous posts, but here I believe you too are operating under an erroneous assumption. That assumption is that the Palestinian Leadership cares about it's people and desires to build a nation. I would submit that the Palestinian leadership is nothing less than a bunch of gangsters and terrorists who consciously and purposely impose suffering upon it's people to keep the game going in order to continue receiving international support (read money) which then somehow ends up in their Basil, Zurich, or Abu Dhabi bank accounts. They know they can't win; and, they don't want a state. They could have had a state many times . Using religion, international aide and support, Israeli concessions, peace efforts and movements, military support (i.e.Iran) the early brainwashing of the children, and various other forms of propaganda and incitement, the are able to keep the game going. What Deep Throat said in c.1973 applies here; "Always follow the money". IMO what needs to be discovered is how to by-pass the Palestinian leadership and get the people to understand that a belief in a Palestinian victory is delusional. Once and only once that occurs can your solution affect the necessary conditions for a cessation of all hostilities and a turning inward to develop a nation.

I want to increase the number of Palestinians who accept Israel from the roughly 20 percent at present to a majority. Reader comments (14) on this item
