More evidence from the Qur'an that the word Akbar means: Bigger! And al-Tabari in his own words!Reader comment on item: The Jihadi Truck Attack in New York City Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jul 6, 2018 at 13:13 Dr Pipes Q6:78 says: فَلَمَّا رَأَى الشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةً قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّي هَٰذَا أَكْبَرُ This can be rendered as: So when he (Ibrahim) saw the sun rising he (Ibrahim) said this is my Lord. He (Allah) is AKBAR! al-Tabari wrote that: هذا أكبر or He (Allah) is Akbar means: يعني: هذا أكبر من الكوكب والقمر This can be rendered as: This means It (the sun) is BIGGER (when compared) to the star and the moon! Notice that in the shameful translation of Yusuf Ali, he translated the word Akbar as "greatest of all" which is a blatant lie. Also notice that in Pickthall's translation as well as in the shameful Sahih translation the word Akbar is translated as as "greater" and not Great! From their horrible translations one must conclude that the word Akbar does not mean great! And more evidence that Allahu Akbar does not mean God is Great! Even if we give Muslims the benefit of the doubt Allahu Akbar means Allah is Greater And it is not God is Great! For readers interested in early Arabic language literature: There is a mistake in gender in the verse and yet another grammatical mistake in the Qur'an. The word al-Shams or the sun in feminine in Arabic. However, it is regarded as masculine in the verse and for more information check al-Qurtubi's Tafsir and he says: وقال : " هذا " والشمس مؤنثة or and He said Hadha or This (masculine) and the sun is feminine! So much for the perfect Qur'an http://quran.ksu.edu.sa/tafseer/qortobi/sura6-aya78.html
