home grownReader comment on item: L.A.'s Thwarted Terror Spree Submitted by donevan (United States), Sep 6, 2005 at 17:30 Home grown Muslim-Jihad-Islamic terrorists/insurgents is incorrect. "Home", one assumes, means the United States. What we have is the success of Islamist organizers bent on the destruction of Constitutional Government. The paradox is: the United States has no defense against this 5th column. Our assumptions that education, especially higher education is the social integration engine which drives "E Plurbus Unum". This mythology is in shreds. A Muslim with a college degree cannot be assumed to have internalized the educational experience. They are still Islamic. Yet, may have access to practically any facet of American society. Muslims, we are told, are the best educated, highest income, " Model citizens". Yet they are still Islamic. The belief system of Mohammed trumps any matriculation, or social integration into the larger society. Perhaps the academic mythology will overcome the mythology of Islam. The Islamic leadership understands how important it is to use, subvert, and exploit the institutions of the "Host". The American system of education, and the dedication of the middle classes to it, makes it the soft underbelly of theculture wars.
