Some additonal factsReader comment on item: L.A.'s Thwarted Terror Spree Submitted by D (United States), Sep 25, 2005 at 12:41 Hello,Just so you know, the CDOC (California Department of Corrections) has been aware of the JIS for more than 2 years. In addition, they have been trying to get the CDOJ to investigate it. It was a patrol cop with Torrance PD who got Washington, it wasn't just the cell phone! People at the Mosques they had been visiting to recruit people into JIS didn't like what they were saying and notified authorities so Washington, James, etc. were already on a Federal Terrorist Watch List when the cell phone was found. The cell phone just helped them get another piece of the puzzle. Also, a leftist attorney tried to stop a search of several jail cells (no right to privacy in prison). In addition... the majority of those recruited were young black gang members, none of which had any intention of being martyrs (no suicide bombers in this group). They planned on hitting gang style (drive by). Also, prisons are State run and are for people that have been sentenced to more than one year (usually felony convictions), jails are County run and are for people that have been sentenced to less than one year (usually misdemeanor convictions). Law enforcement isn't inept, their hands have been tied by the loony left. ...
