Response to A.A.Reader comment on item: Islamists, Get Out Submitted by Samir (United States), Sep 9, 2005 at 21:54 I thank GOD the most gratious the most merciful. I declare there is no God BUT Allah and that Mohammad (peace be upon him) is his last prophet and messenger.1st:The kuran is the best single piece of literature known by human kind, it is not as you described. I think it is your inability to see the beauty of its text and the way the verses are connected to each other and how they make a monolitic Idea that shapes the mind of the beleiver. I do not blame you because you are using the english translation of its meaning, but for me and every body who knows the arabic language it is a beautiful peotry. 2nd: I think you are still using the same strategy, which is selecting some passages of the quran or the sunna that you think are proof of the degree of boldness of islam. my answer will not be much different from what I told you before, many of the verses you mentionned are true, and I think that every religion on earth think that the best people are its followers they may be discribed in many ways in the christian scriptures, the old testament or the quran. that's why a religion is different from another, I mean it is because it considers that others are wrong. and I beleive in every word in the quran without feeling any hate against them. example: when God describes the non-beleivers as animals, the meaning of it is that they do not use their minds, which is the gift god gave them, and yet they follow their desires like animals do. what's wrong with that??I won't say that if it was me because I am a man like them and I want rather use a certain degree of hypocresy, but when it comes to their creator the way he sees his creation is different. 3rd:There is no mention in the kuran of the word non-muslims, I challange you!!. GOD always used the word the disbeleivers. In most of the verses you mentioned, God was describing or talking about a known category of them who have commited crimes, against muslims. the quran doesn't give all the details surrounding the event because they are known by muslims and because of the poetic nature of the holy text. 4th:You need to know that non beleivers are of different categories, non believers were also soldiers in the muslim army, they have also suffered discrimination by the non-beleivers, they protected the prophet and the prophet protected many of them, the prophet allowed christian priests to spend a night in the mosque and fed them and was kind to them, he had good relations with other jews and used to remember his jewish neighbour every time there is some special food on his table"which is rare", and declared that protecting priests is an obligation of muslims, all these known facts make your way of reading the kuran rediculous. conserning the hadiths, they are not all authentic and many of the hadiths you mentionned are not, even sahih-albokhari and sahih-muslim are not 100% authentic, but considered by muslims as of the highest degree of authenticity as a whole. 5th: let's read the bible and see what the old testement says about the people of moses and their disobeience is it much different from what was mentionned in the kuran?? Not at all. let's read about the battles of king david and other prophets in the old testament is it much different from what muhammad was asked to do to face the oppression and other crimes commited by non-beleivers against muslims??? Not at all. Now why is the kuran a problem? I wont go away with this for the sake of staying in the subject, and I am able to do it. I am sure that if you start reading the kuran with another mindset you won't come to the conclusions you came into. kuran was not revealed to please people or to accomodate them, but to tell them the truth about themselves no matter how they feel about it. I feel really sorry because you are ignoring all the verses talking about christians and jews positively, and concentrating on certain verses related to certain historical events. none of the verses describing how god look at non-beleivers is a call for muslims to hate or kill them, but an awareness for us not to be like that. the kuran doesn't allow muslims to love or cooperate with those who fight their faith, and those are the non-beleivers in the verses and hadiths you mentionned, yet muslims are required to love and help those who do not commit agression against their faith. isn't it the way every body on the planet think?? why is it a problem when it comes to islam??? May God bless you and all the nice people commenting on the article, I know the way people in the west are educated to talk , think and judge make them a little confused when confronted with a foreign language, culture and history, but it doesn't mean that every thing you see or beleive in is the absolute truth. I invite you to read the kuran with an open mind, then and only then you will be able to make fair judgement. thank you for being attentive and for publishing my comments.
