Finding Rest in the Midst of Confusion.Reader comment on item: What Would Ben-Gurion Do? Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Jun 1, 2020 at 21:55 After serious consideration in the contravening perceptions of how Israel is attempting to settle a course of sovereignty, Dr. Pipes is presenting an intellectual conundrum. Is Jewish sovereignty the desired goal in the historical heritage of the entirety of the land promised to Abraham, including Samaria and Judea; or not? It cannot be both ways. Elsewhere we read -"Proclaiming the Jewish state was an epochal event. Extending Israeli sovereignty to parts of the West Bank is hardly more than symbolism." If this is not confusing and obfuscating the practical reality that is the destiny of Israel, then where is the hope that centuries of desiring to return by the ancients and their modern day counterparts ever going to get its place of rest?
