- Does America Survive a Post Trump Environment?
When reviewing again some of Dr. Pipes observations in this Michael Johns Jr interview, something stood out this time that did not prompt any certain prior concern; however now modified by a change of circumstances that before did not seem practical; but in view of a major resurgence in revived ghosts of cold war antipathies, the concern is now gaining impetus as the result of two factors that seem to be hard for the leftist secularist media apparatchik to tell the truth about; and America is being prepared to pay for this now obvious lack of vision for the future, now compromised irrevocably.
The Iranian Islamic Regime's continuing harassment of Israel along with pursuing out-of-control nuclear ambitions in a region that needs little in the way of provocation to commence blood-oath confrontations seems, now, more than ever, ready to 'take it to the next step.' And America is being drawn deeper into that with an apparently 'blinded eye' approach. The antagonisms surrounding that are now reaching critical mass; and speaking of this in nuclear terms reminds this reader of the very same tensions when President Kennedy challenged Russia over Cuba – is that rhetoric being proffered by the potential incursion of a Biden Sino-friendly Administration that appears indifferent to the Chinese setting up bases in Cuba and the Caribbean? The lawyers answer: hardly.
But, more dramatically in secretive terms, the Russian increase of covert activities built upon one of the more disturbingly interventional assaults on America due to the in-house conversion of American politics being infiltrated by Soviet Style Stalinist schemes of intrigue that even a John Le Carre would have a hard time delineating; and every one thinks McCarthy was paranoid. But strategic air defense strategies are in play in what, on the surface appears tactical, yet deeper seated antipathies are also in view that tend towards strategic maneuvering; the likes of which appear to be coming from north of the Middle East; and that's about to be disrupted in ways too few seem to be ready for, especially in view of the radical change in the American political landscape.
This, then, points to Dr. Pipes observation: [ Over the decades, the Arab states have been increasingly uneager to fight Israel and more prone to deal with it, a trend pushed further along by steep declines in energy prices in 2014 and 2020, the JCPOA, a growing anti-Islamist mood, and Trump's urgings. Unless something highly unexpected takes place, this evolution should continue.]
Get the view here: it may look like Stalin could get the last laugh here due to the antics of his late blooming influences: except Stalin never understood the Middle East, not even when meeting with Churchill, Roosevelt, et al in Tehran. And the expected change in American politics will not get that message either for the lack of knowledge they seem to want to dismiss.
Don't mess with Israel.
