Alghabra is now the first clearly Islamist federal cabinet minister in Canadian history

I tried posting this comment on the CBC Politics website and it was deleted twice. I give up now. I would assume that it is your views that were being objected to, not mine, since your views were the focus of my comment: The comment related to a Power & Politics feature posted on January 12, 2021, called " Marc Garneau tapped as foreign affairs minister in cabinet shuffle." My comment was not off-topic as Garneau was previously Transport Minister and Alghabra succeeded him in that post. ...

'See the post by Middle East Forum president Daniel Pipes "Is Omar Alghabra of Canada's Liberal Party an Islamist?" Anyone who takes the trouble to read it can have no doubt the answer is yes. In 2005, Alghabra was a firm supporter of the Ontario Liberal government extending shariah law in Ontario, and opposed to Hamas and Hezbollah being labelled terrorist groups. So he is far more clearly an Islamist than, say, Liberal bimbo Maryam "Sharia fascinates me" Monsef, who has been in cabinet since the start of the Trudeau regime.

'So this is really a first for the Trudeau Liberals, the first unambiguously Islamist politician ever appointed to a federal cabinet, and not to a trivial position either, since he is Minister of Transport. Canadians should not have any problem with practicing Moslems serving in Cabinet, but they certainly should object to an Islamist serving in Cabinet, or as a Parliamentary Secretary for that matter. It is something for people to remember when they vote in the next federal election, likely this year.'
