Law of KarmaReader comment on item: Is Omar Alghabra of Canada's Liberal Party an Islamist? Submitted by Venkat (Canada), Dec 24, 2005 at 00:20 Yes, I say that it is the law of Karma that the Canadians (including me) are seeing this.In other parts of the world Muslims have been behaving like this since their cult started, so I don't find anything strange that this was said in Canada. In fact people's memory is short - in December of 2001 Toronto Star published an article which said that Muslims have declared to make Toronto a "Dar-ul_Islam", as a first step before eventually making Canada. And, for speaking frankly, the writer was sacked just like Dan Rather. Not to be outdone, many a Liberal ministers lick the feet of fundamentalist Muslims, begging for their invitations to visit their mosques on Fridays. The western world, including Canada, does not see the reality; in fact I can lay a bet with anyone that this issue would be buried under the carpet by all, including the media, and much to my sorrow. In other parts of the world this is a reality; but as Canadians instead of acknowledging it, we are ignoring it as if the monster would go away - not realising that that the man-eater tiger would never let go a human being but rather kill him even if the he is not hungry. Over the years I've realised that the Canadians are very meek and can be bowed down easily. The only thing that we are good at is making loud noises during a hickey game, or moaning against the US. A little scare sends us packing. Most, if not all, are big boasting air-headed, who don't see what's happening around them, and only read the sports section. We believe that as long as we can keep the monster to not get angry, we are fine ... as long as "my" life is safe I don't need to do anything; yes, some are not man enough to stand up for their family, including wife and children. What should be done - instill self-pride, and make citizens realize that rights are preceded by responsibilities. First instill self-pride into Canadians. Everyone Canadian to have a flag in their house. Not standing up for national anthem should attract automatic fine of 1 year's income or $24,000 plus a year jail term with no parole. Next, mandatory annual sessions on educating citizens on their civic duties - there are far too many groups out there, including Charities, that feed on our tax dollars and which go about inciting people to fight for their rights; without even hinting they there are responsibilities associated with rights. Let's see if there is any political party responsible enough to pick up this issue. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
