Democracies are doomed

Dear Dr Pipes,

Reader Andrew Baldwin told Canadian voters to be vigilant about Islamist candidates in the upcoming Canadian elections. That is a good advice but no matter how I look at it, I feel that all world democracies are doomed at the hands of Islamic minorities. You see, first, due to illegal and legal immigrations Islamic minority groups will certainly be created in all democratic countries. These groups --even if they are not 100% Islamists-- will congregate behind Islamist leaders and vote as single vote-banks. So, if there are 10% Muslims in a nation, normal candidates will have only 90 votes to work with and they will have to earn 50 of those 90 votes to defeat the candidates supported by the Muslim population. That is not always easy.

This phenomenon is already evident in many countries. The two recent senate races in Georgia were decided by 1 or 2% difference. What percent of Georgia population is Muslim? What is the chance that a Muslim voted for a republican candidates?

Of course, the scenario presented by me is hypothetical. No one knows how anyone else votes. But read the comment section of any public forum. How often do we see people with Muslim sounding names speaking about freedom/democracy/openness vs Islam?

We are running a race against time. The near term future will belong to politicians who make compromises with Islamists. The long term future will belong to Muslim candidates. And, of course, Islam has nothing to do with democracy. Just look at the Islamic countries in Asia and Africa.

We need to educate Muslim. We have to teach them Beethoven (as you say), Gandhi, Russell, Voltaire, Locke, Hume, Confucius and more. We need to run these classes until Islam becomes open minded.
