The problem is not RZP or Islamists. The problem is Netanyahu.Reader comment on item: Can the Koran Solve Israel's Political Impasse? Submitted by David (Israel), Apr 26, 2021 at 05:01 People of Israel have voted increasingly clearly in 4 elections in 2 years: they want to get rid of Netanyahu, with his criminal charges and almost 14 years in the office that led to unprecedented personal and systemic corruption. There is not a single person in Israel - left or right - who will not agree with the following mathematically correct assessment: if Netanyahu loosens his grip on the Likud party and resigns now, a majority (65/120) coalition of Zionist right-wing parties will spring out of the ashes in 48 hours. No need even for a coalition with center-left or center-right, let alone leftwing, Arab or Islamist parties. Therefore Dr Pipes' witty exercise in Islamic political theology is irrelevant for the current Israeli politics. Netanyahu is the problem, nothing else.

I have called for him to leave the prime ministry, by the way. Reader comments (32) on this item |
