Israel should...Reader comment on item: Israel's Policy Should Be Victory Submitted by There is NO Santa Claus (United States), May 17, 2021 at 22:59 Personally, I don't like "Israel should..." statements. That said, countries at war typically fight until one side loses. For some strange reason, Israel opts for some third altruistic option whereby the conflict is prolonged in the hope that the enemy will come to a peaceful accommodation. I think most of us understand this, but at some point the natural human endeavor of two parties waging war will ultimately take over. One side will defeat the other. As one who supports the Jewish State, I support Israel winning the war. One thing is very different now in 2021. Petroleum doesn't drive the world economy as much as it did in the past. Today, there is a global shortage of semi-conductors. Gaza doesn't manufacture semi-conductors. Israel does. Keep that in mind when you're scratching your head wondering why the diplomats of industrialized nations are making statements that "Israel has the right to self-defense". Israel makes stuff. The Palestinian Arabs don't. There is significant foreign investment in Israel; nothing of significance in the Palestinian Arab territories. If Israel decides to seek a definitive military victory over Gaza/Hamas, current circumstances seems (to me) in the Jewish State's favor. Like I always say (and I request you give me credit should you ever repeat this): "It's always the stinkin' money!" Regards, There is NO Santa Claus (aka TINSC)
